The Rosebud Cottage welcomed spring through color and form with their annual St. Patrick’s Day hand and foot painting activity this week! Not only did we welcome spring through color and form and creating a keepsake to treasure, but children also got a tactile sensory experience while enjoying one-on-one nurturing time with their teacher with their peers around them in supportive reverence. Children painted and got painted, followed by a warm foot bath and foot rub with lotion, before using their strength to punch out shapes and fine motor skills to create the final shamrock touch. This is an activity I look forward to every year! I so love spending these beautiful moments with each child, finding out more about them as I observe how they respond to the experience, noticing how beautiful and unique all their little hands and feet are and sharing in lots of giggles and awe.
