By Hudson Sangree, Class of 1986
Karl Jansson, class of 1986, passed away March 9, 2024 while being treated in the hospital for pneumonia. He was 57.
Karl was a kind and special soul. He cared deeply for the welfare of animals, including the cats and other creatures that lived on his farm. He was also extremely funny. Karl could make his friends laugh with a few words or a wry look. He delighted in old movies and 1970s television shows, riding his snowmobiles, and driving through the countryside in his Honda del Sol or Miata with the top down.
The school was a special place for him. He would occasionally meet with former classmates and teachers there to walk the campus or play tennis. He attended the class of ’86 reunions in 2006 and 2016, enlivening the events with his banter and homemade films from the 1980s, which featured students and teachers.
Karl will be greatly missed. Please make donations in his memory to the SPCA or Kimberton Waldorf School.
