Encouraging imagination and setting a mood of wonder, reverence, and enthusiasm.
We strive to support parents in strengthening their parenting skills and in creating a healthy and joyful home life. We build our class community through meaningful, purposeful work that builds self-esteem and encourages mindful parenting. Children are invited to help clean up after our shared snack and are offered time for free play. Most children happily join in following the adults, joyfully washing dishes and sweeping. Then, creative free play time encourages children’s imaginations to flourish and cultivates social skills and problem-solving. By observing and/or participating in a peaceful, nurturing environment, both children and parents are able to grow from deep within, enlivening themselves and others around them.

Our classes are meant to create a safe community for parents and offer a quiet, calm space for children where their play is honored as work. Caregivers will be able to slow down, relax, and observe the magic of their child’s development in this nurturing environment and join together to discuss the benefits of family rhythms, imaginative play, loving discipline, and simplicity to help build and support your family culture. A simple craft activity will also be offered to compliment the season and add warmth to your home. No experience necessary!
The sessions will be guided by Molly Brett who returns to us as a seasoned teacher with strong ties to the Kimberton Waldorf School community. After graduating and traveling, she began working at Camphill Special School, a local Waldorf School for children with special needs. She has been a Parent/Child teacher at the Asheville Waldorf School. She has worked at KWS as an assistant, Parent/Child teacher and Lead Preschool Teacher. Molly has completed the Lifeways Fundamentals and Full Certification program in Anthroposophical Care of the Young Child and with 15 years of classroom experience is still in awe of what Waldorf Education provides!
