Discover the High School

Tuesday, February 14, 2023

8:00 am – 10:3 High School Library

The High School provides a rich, rigorous, immersive academic experience for students in grades nine through twelve. Teachers craft hands-on experiences which sharpen students’ growing intellectual capacities and strengthen their powers of judgment and creative thinking, while students take on more responsibilities for their own education.  Learning is not limited to the classroom but engages the student with the world through rich and meaningful experiences.

Discover the Lower School

Tuesday, January 31, 2023

8:00 am – 10:30 am Meeting at the Middle School Porch

The Lower School meets the need of first through eighth graders by cultivating their imaginative capacities through integrative education and hands-on learning. When children learn by doing and are encouraged to think creatively, they are able to make connections between art, nature, and academics in a way that cultivates their innate curiosity and deepens their appreciation for the world around them.

Kindergarten Visit

Saturday, February 25, 2023

Get to know our two-year kindergarten program that preserves the important elements of childhood while meeting children’s physical, social, and emotional needs. Paired with a thriving forest program, the curriculum lays the foundations for inquiry, literacy, critical thinking, and traditional academics in the elementary grades.

We invite kindergarten-ready children and their parents to spend an hour with us on Saturday morning, February 25 at 10 am. Enjoy bread making, play time, and a story. Discover the warm and magical setting, meet our experienced teachers, and find out how the time-honored Waldorf framework provides the freedom and structure necessary for imagination and confidence to bloom.

*Also offered on Friday, March 24, 2023 – 10:00 am

Environmental Education at KWS

Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 7 pm

We bring every student in our two-year kindergarten program into the forest for two-week modules throughout the school year. Circle time beneath the trees; corn, freshly popped over the campfire for snack, aromatic mint tea warming little hands in between exploration and games. KWS’s forest is the perfect place for children to explore outdoor world within the safe boundaries and supervision of experienced forest educators. This experience lays the groundwork for academic success, transmits the values of our school, and primes children to make a difference in the world.

Find out how this unique facet of our early childhood program sows the seeds of wonder and inquiry fundamental to the scientific process. Join us to meet with the teachers and learn more about the program.
