Waldorf Works is Kimberton Waldorf School’s opportunity to open its doors and welcome community members who just want to know what the school is all about. For far too many years, we’ve been considered Chester County’s best kept secret.
Through this program, we will share our mission and goals. We will introduce attendees to a member of our governing team, who will share our vision. Participants will get right into the classroom with the youngest of our students and observe them grinding wheat on bread-making day or perhaps cutting vegetables for soup. The tour then moves on to the lower school where one might see the children deeply engaged in a math game or caring for their baby chicks. A swift walk through the organic, vegetarian lunch program will have you wishing you were staying for lunch! Alan Wright, the school’s woodworking teacher, will demonstrate how the school isn’t trying to create the next generation of sculptors, but rather to inspire a generation of students with “spine.” (You’ll have to attend to learn what that means!) In the high school, you’ll have an opportunity to observe the amazing artwork and in-depth physics or biology class. We end with a testimonial from a parent, student, grandparent, alumni or alumni parent.
