Take a Stand Against Bullying - Go Purple!
Take a Stand Against Bullying - Go Purple! Wear purple festive dress and decorate the school with rainbows on Tuesday, October 21. Join the KWS parent, faculty, staff, and student community in wearing anything festively purple. Millions wear purple on Spirit Day and decorate their homes, schools and workspaces with rainbows in a stand against bullying and to show their support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Kimberton Waldorf School’s intention in celebrating Spirit Day is to honor the LGBTQ community as well as diversity in all its many forms. Observed annually since 2010, individuals, schools, organizations, corporations, and public figures wear purple, which symbolizes 'spirit' on the rainbow flag. National Spirit Day is celebrated on October 16, 2014, but we are choosing to celebrate it on October 21. We look forward to seeing you all in your fabulous purple attire, and to seeing rainbows drawn, painted, modeled, knitted, and displayed all over campus.
