Spirit Day

Join the entire KWS parent, faculty, staff, and student community in wearing purple on Tuesday October 22, 2013. Millions wear purple on Spirit Day in a stand against bullying and to show their support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Kimberton Waldorf School’s intention in celebrating Spirit Day is to honor our LGBTQ community as well as diversity in all its many forms. Observed annually since 2010, individuals, schools, organizations, corporations, and public figures wear purple, which symbolizes 'spirit' on the rainbow flag. Technically, National Spirit Day is celebrated on 10/17/13, but our school has chosen to celebrate it on Tuesday October 21, 2013 given that we have an all-school assembly on that day.  For more information please feel free to check out the following link:  http://www.glaad.org/spiritday

Looking forward to seeing you all in your most festive purple attire,
The Diversity Committee
