This group is for parents and their children who come to school together. Eligible children are no older than three, by September 1. It provides an opportunity for parents to meet and work together while the children play. This group meets at the Rosebud Children's Garden on Hickory Grove Road twice a week, on Fridays and Saturdays, from 9:00am to 11:30 am. The program has a maximum of 12 children. Younger siblings of eligible children are invited to attend with the parent.
Our Parent-Child circle offers an opportunity for children to discover the world in a special setting with their families. Parents, grandparents or caregivers and their young child come together once or twice a week in a nurturing, home-like environment under the guidance of Early Childhood teacher, Chinyelu Kunz. Our daily rhythm includes making bread for our morning tea, domestic activities, free-play, seasonal circle games and songs, storytelling and puppetry. For the adults, we offer crafts and observation of the children in quietude. An honoring of the young child's imaginative capacity in play sets a mood of wonder, reverence and enthusiasm for tasks at hand. We strive to support parents in strengthening their parenting skills and in creating a healthy and joyful home life.
