Kimberton Waldorf School, founded in 1941, is the second oldest Waldorf school in North America. We are located in Chester County, PA on a beautiful 432-acre property that includes fields, woods, creeks, and the Seven Stars biodynamic dairy farm just across the road. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum including music, orchestra, gardening, eurythmy, handwork, woodwork, drama, and athletics. Kimberton is a founding member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and is accredited by AWSNA and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Experience in fundraising, preferably in a private school
  • Success in setting and meeting fundraising goals, specifically in all aspects of annual giving campaigns
  • Focus on major gift solicitation and knowledge and experience identifying and cultivating prospects, and managing all aspects of donor stewardship including tracking, reporting and database development and management
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate the mission, vision and merits of the school effectively both orally and in writing for internal and external audiences
  • Experience creating fundraising publications, plans and written materials
  • Knowledge of finances, budgetary planning, and a demonstrated sense of fiscal responsibility
  • Leadership abilities in managing volunteers and committees
  • A strong commitment to independent education and familiarity with Waldorf Education
  • Excellent work ethic and an appreciation for collaborative working
  • Knowledge and experience in organizing a capital campaign, planned giving, and corporate sponsorship preferred but not necessary
  • A prevailing sense of optimism and a “can-do” attitude
  • Interest in working towards a long-term sustainable future for Kimberton Waldorf School
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong relationship-building skills
 
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred)
  • Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends when necessary
