History

Kimberton Waldorf School, founded in 1941 by Alarik and Mabel Pew Myrin, is the second-oldest Waldorf School in North America. Located in semi-rural Chester County, Pennsylvania, the school serves approximately 300 students from early childhood through grade twelve.

With nearly 1000 Waldorf schools worldwide and more than 250 in the United States alone, Kimberton Waldorf School is part of one of the largest and fastest-growing independent school movements in the world. Kimberton is a founding member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and is accredited by the Middle Schools Association of Colleges and Schools. Kimberton welcomes children of all cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds.

Campus

Kimberton Waldorf School is situated on 437 acres of bio-dynamic farmland, on the banks of French Creek in semi-rural Chester County. The seven large school buildings are surrounded by fields, meadows, streams and woods. The track and soccer fields lie between the main buildings and the school garden. Our new garden building provides a light and spacious classroom for numerous main lessons and the gardening classes that continue through the school day. Morning Garden Nursery and Early Childhood is located on nearby Hickory Grove Road, in a spacious, warm, farm house.

Across the road from the main campus are the farm, dairy, Seven Stars Yogurt production and Community Supported Agriculture garden.
